Plot Summary:
Harry's fourth summer and the following year at Hogwarts are marked by the Quidditch World Cup and the Triwizard Tournament, in which student representatives from three different wizarding schools compete in a series of increasingly challenging contests. However, Voldemort's Death Eaters are gaining strength and even creating the Dark Mark giving evidence that the Dark Lord is ready to rise again. In the unsuspecting lives of the young wizard and witches at Hogwarts the competitors are selected by the goblet of fire, which this year makes a very surprising announcement: Hogwarts will have two representatives in the tournament, including Harry Potter! Will Harry be able to rise to the challenge for the Tri Wizard Tournament while keeping up with school or will the challenges along with Voldemort's rebirth be too much for the young hero?

Find a guy, who calls you beautiful instead of hot.

Who calls you back when you hang up on him.

Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.

Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead.

Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats.

Who holds your hand in front of his friends.

Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you & how lucky he is to have you.

Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her."

Twenty-five years, and still you are in love!
What river does not deepen as it flows?
Each day your love increases as it goes,
Nourishing the lands through which it moves.
The love that lasts is deeper far than passion.
Years pass and it abides beneath the light.
Few know the secrets of its dark delight,
Intent on all the toys that are in fashion.
Vivid lusts yield pleasures that soon cease.
Each year of love yields happiness and peace.

On March 24, 1893, millionaire William Waldorf Astor opened the 13-story Waldorf Hotel on the site, which had formerly boasted his mansion, at Fifth Avenue at 33rd Street. Built by renowned architect Henry Hardenbergh, The Waldorf was the embodiment of Astor's vision of a grand hotel, complete with electricity throughout and private bathrooms in many guest chambers - two of a long list of Waldorf firsts. Four years later, The Waldorf was joined by the 17-story Astoria Hotel, erected on an adjacent site by Waldorf's cousin, John Jacob Astor IV. The corridor built to connect the two buildings became an enduring symbol of the combined Waldorf and Astoria hotels - it is represented by the "=" in The Waldorf=Astoria.

In 1929, after decades of hosting distinguished visitors from around the world, a decision was made to tear down the original Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in order to erect the Empire State Building and pave the way for a reincarnation 15 blocks north on Park Avenue. The current Waldorf=Astoria opened on October 1, 1931 as the world's largest and tallest hotel, a veritable city-within-a-city. President Herbert Hoover himself delivered the radio broadcast message of congratulations at the opening of the hotel.

The Waldorf=Astoria is an Art Deco masterpiece, and was the world's largest hotel when it opened. The hotel was recognized as an official New York City Landmark in January 1993. During recent renovations totaling in excess of $200 million, many of the hotel's original Art Deco treasures were rediscovered and unveiled, delighting a whole new generation of devoted admirers of the Waldorf=Astoria.

The Waldorf=Astoria celebrates its many famous firsts.
1. At its opening, the Waldorf=Astoria was the largest hotel in the world.

2. The Empire Room, which was once the premier entertainment club in New York, helped launch the careers of Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra.

3. Ginger Rogers appeared in the first major film to feature a hotel, Weekend at the Waldorf.

4. The Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to abolish the "Ladies Entrance."

5. The Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to start the practice of having assistant managers in the lobby to greet and assist guests with their needs.

6. The Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to be included in the lyrics of a Broadway show. The lyrics from Cole Porter's "You're the Top", featured in Anything Goes proclaim "You're a Waldorf Salad."

7. The Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to introduce room service.

8. The Waldorf Towers was the first hotel to suggest people live permanently in private suites.

9. The Waldorf=Astoria is the only hotel to be the residence of three five-star generals: Dwight Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur and Omar Bradley. The five-star insignia is still displayed over the door of the "Eisenhower Suite."

10. The Waldorf=Astoria was the first hotel to give prominence to the Art Deco style in America. Today, the exterior and interior design are acknowledged as masterpieces of this art genre.

11. The Starlight Roof, a jewel of décor and dining, was the first supper club to have a retractable roof.

Cream Puffs
Makes 3 dozen

All-purpose flour, for making Pâte à Choux (Check Below)
1 cup granulated sugar, for sprinkling
1/2 recipe Tart Dough (Check Below)
3/4 cup heavy cream (Pastry Cream) (Check Below)
Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting

1. Line 3 large baking sheets with parchment paper or with nonstick baking mats, such as Silpats. Dip a 2-inch round cookie cutter in flour, & mark circles 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. Transfer pâte à choux to a pastry bag fitted with a 5/8-inch plain tip (such as an Ateco #808), & pipe puffs to fit in flour circles. Smooth peaks with a moistened finger, rounding tops to ensure even rising. Freeze pastry puffs on baking sheets until firm, about 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, sprinkle a clean work surface with 1/2 cup granulated sugar, & place tart dough on top of sugar, patting it into a round. Sprinkle another 1/2 cup sugar over dough, & roll to a scant 1/8-inch thick, coating both sides of dough with the sugar to keep it from sticking. Using a 1 1/2-inch cookie cutter, cut out 36 rounds, & place a round on top of each frozen puff. Return to freezer until firm, at least 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°, with racks in upper & lower thirds.

3. Bake puffs until pale golden brown all over, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool completely on baking sheets on wire racks. Puffs can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature overnight.

4. Put heavy cream in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Whisk the pastry cream to soften. Working in 2 batches, fold whipped cream into pastry cream. Transfer to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/2-inch plain tip (such as an Ateco #806). Insert tip into bottom of each puff, & fill. Dust with confectioners’ sugar. Cream puffs are best eaten within a few hours; refrigerate in an airtight container.
-------------------

Tart Dough
Makes enough for 3 dozen cream puffs

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 large egg yolks
1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons heavy cream

1. Put butter & confectioners’ sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until combined, about 2 minutes. Add egg yolks, & mix until combined, about 1 minute. Add 3/4 cup flour, & mix just until flour is incorporated. Add remaining 3/4 cup flour, the salt, & cream; mix until just combined, about 1 minute.

2. Shape dough into a disk; wrap in plastic, & refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.
-------------------

Pastry Cream
Makes about 2 1/2 cups

2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, seeds scraped & reserved Pinch of salt
4 large egg yolks
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1. Bring milk, 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla bean & seeds, & salt to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

2. Whisk egg yolks, cornstarch, & remaining 1/4 cup sugar in a medium bowl. Whisking, slowly pour about 1/2 cup of hot milk mixture into yolk mixture. Slowly add remaining milk mixture until incorporated. Pour mixture back into the saucepan, & cook over medium-high heat, whisking, until it begins to bubble in center & registers 160° on an instant-read thermometer, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat; discard vanilla bean.

3. Transfer to the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Add butter; beat on medium speed until butter has melted & mixture has cooled, about 5 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate until cold, at least 2 hours or up to 2 days. Just before using, beat on low speed or whisk by hand until smooth.
-------------------

Pâte à Choux
Makes enough for 3 dozen cream puffs

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
4 large eggs, plus 1 large egg white

1. Bring butter, sugar, salt, & 1 cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat. Using a wooden spoon, quickly stir in flour. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture pulls away from sides & a film forms on bottom of pan, about 3 minutes.

2. Transfer to the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until slightly cooled, about 1 minute. Raise speed to medium; add whole eggs, 1 at a time, until a soft peak forms when batter is touched with your finger. If peak does not form, lightly beat remaining egg white, & mix it into batter a little at a time until it does.

This has a thought provoking message no matter how you believe...

The professor of a university challenged his students with this question: "Did God create everything that exists?" A student answered bravely, "Yes, he did!"

The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he created evil. Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil." The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor to conclude that he had "proved" that "belief in a benevolent God" was a fairy tale, and therefore worthless.

Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I pose a question?" "Of course," answered the professor. The young student stood up and asked : "Professor does cold exist?" The professor answered, "What kind of question is that? Of course cold exists... have you never been cold?"

The young student answered, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Absolute Zero is the total absence of heat, but cold does not exist as such. What we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if we don't have body heat or we are not hot."

"And, does darkness exist?", he continued. The professor answered, "Of course." This time the student responded, "Again you're wrong, Sir. Darkness is, in reality, the absence of light. We can study light, but not darkness. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil."

The student responded, "Evil does not exist, Sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold - a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

Does Evil Exist?

by on 10:04:00 AM
This has a thought provoking message no matter how you believe... The professor of a university challenged his students with this question: ...
Everything is made up of electromagnetic energy vibrating at different frequencies that correspond to sound, light and color.

Colors are frequency wavelengths - the primary colors following a spectrum called ROYGBIV - the rainbow spectrum - the chakra system of energy wheels - the human aura - or electromagnetic energy field. We are drawn to the colors - that are needed to create balance in our lives. The goal in all healing is to create balance.

Color Frequenices

RED
Red is the color of energy, vitality and power. It is used for burning out cancer, drying up weeping sores or wounds, etc., it will warm cold areas to reduce pain. Red is a powerful healing agent for healing diseases of the blood and circulation. It will help with depression. Red is not to be used on people with high blood pressure or anxiety. If you stay under the red ray too long or are exposed to red for a considerable time it will make you very agitated or even aggressive. It is associated with the male polarity. A red carpet or wall - in a place of business - will draw money. If you are a sales person - try wearing something red!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ORANGE
The mental body in both its logical and conceptual form. It is used to increase immunity, to increase sexual potency, to help in all digestive ailments, chest and kidney diseases. Orange will have a gentle warming effect if used lightly. Orange, like red should not be used for too long. It is not a good color for nervous people or people easily agitated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PEACH
The peach frequency is used for peace, truth, and balance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YELLOW
Yellow is the color of intellect and it is used for mental stimulation, it will help you think quicker. It is good for clearing a foggy head. To help cure dermatitis and other skin problems and again it must be used carefully because it is very stimulating and it could cause exhaustion and depression.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GREEN
Green is the color of healing and traveling back in time. It will balance the emotions and brings about a feeling of calmness. Green is a good general healing color because it stimulates growth therefore it is good for helping heal broken bones - regrowth of tissue of all kinds. Green is also alchemy - the alchemy of consciousness from one realm to another through the spiraling energies of DNA.

Here is where I took it from:
--> Ramadan Source..

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Islam uses a lunar calendar—that is, each month begins with the sighting of the new moon. Because the lunar calendar is about 11 days shorter than the solar calendar used elsewhere, Islamic holidays "move" each year. In 2005, Ramadan will begin on Oct. 5.

For more than a billion Muslims around the world—including some 8 million in North America—Ramadan is a "month of blessing" marked by prayer, fasting, and charity. This year Ramadan precedes Christmas and Hanukkah. But while in many places these holidays have become widely commercialized, Ramadan retains its focus on self-sacrifice and devotion to Allah (God).

Why this Month?
Muslims believe that during the month of Ramadan, Allah revealed the first verses of the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam. Around 610 A.D., a caravan trader named Muhammad took to wandering the desert near Mecca (in today's Saudi Arabia) while thinking about his faith. One night a voice called to him from the night sky. It was the angel Gabriel, who told Muhammad he had been chosen to receive the word of Allah. In the days that followed, Muhammad found himself speaking the verses that would be transcribed as the Qur'an.

At many mosques during Ramadan, about one thirtieth of the Qur'an is recited each night in prayers known as tarawih. In this way, by the end of the month the complete scripture will have been recited.

Fasting
Muslims practice sawm, or fasting, for the entire month of Ramadan. This means that they may eat or drink nothing, including water, while the sun shines. Fasting is one of the Five Pillars (duties) of Islam. As with other Islamic duties, all able Muslims take part in sawm from about age twelve.

During Ramadan in the Muslim world, most restaurants are closed during the daylight hours. Families get up early for suhoor, a meal eaten before the sun rises. After the sun sets, the fast is broken with a meal known as iftar. Iftar usually begins with dates and sweet drinks that provide a quick energy boost.

Fasting serves many purposes. While they are hungry and thirsty, Muslims are reminded of the suffering of the poor. Fasting is also an opportunity to practice self-control and to cleanse the body and mind. And in this most sacred month, fasting helps Muslims feel the peace that comes from spiritual devotion as well as kinship with fellow believers.

Eid ul-Fitr
Ramadan ends with the festival of Eid ul-Fitr, which in 2005 occurs on November 4. Literally the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," Eid ul-Fitr is one of the two most important Islamic celebrations (the other occurs after the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca). At Eid ul-Fitr people dress in their finest clothes, adorn their homes with lights and decorations, give treats to children, and enjoy visits with friends and family.

A sense of generosity and gratitude colors these festivities. Although charity and good deeds are always important in Islam, they have special significance at the end of Ramadan. As the month draws to a close, Muslims are obligated to share their blessings by feeding the poor and making contributions to mosques.
Police in India's capital, Delhi, have released sketches of a man they want to question in connection with Saturday's explosions that killed 62 people.

There is nothing “paranormal” in the Universe, except our limited understanding of Nature. What we think we “know” on Earth now is just a tiny drop in the Ocean of Knowledge.

What is the Aura ?
Everything in the Universe seems to be just a vibration. Every atom, every part of an atom, every electron, every elementary “particle”, even our thoughts and consciousness are just vibrations. Hence, we may define the Aura as a electro-photonic vibration response of an object to some external excitation (such as an ambient light for example). This definition is sufficient for the purpose of reading Auras, providing that we can train ourselves to see the Aura vibration.

The most important property of the Aura seems to be the fact that it contains INFORMATION about the object.

Aura around living (conscious) objects (people, plants ...) changes with time, sometimes very quickly. Aura around non-living object (stones, crystals, water...) is essentially fixed. Above facts have been observed by scientists in Russia, who have been using Kirlian effect to study Auras for the last 50 years.

The Aura around humans is partly composed from EM (electromagnetic) radiation, spanning from microwave, infrared (IR) to UV light. The low frequency microwave and infrared part of the spectrum (body heat) seems to be related to the low levels of the functioning of our body (DNA structure, metabolism, circulation etc.) whereas high frequency (UV part) is more related to our conscious activity such as thinking, creativity, intentions, sense of humor and emotions. Russian scientists, who seem to be about 3 decades ahead of everyone else in Aura research, make experiments suggesting that our DNA can be altered, by influencing its microwave Aura. The high frequency UV part is very important and most interesting but largely unexplored. And this part can be seen with naked eyes.

INGREDIENTS:

* 6 cups cabbage, shredded
* 1 carrot, shredded
* 1/2 cup fresh bean sprouts
* 1 celery stalk, diced
* 2 tablespoons chopped onion (optional)
* 1 (4 ounce) can shrimp, drained
* 2 tablespoons soy sauce
* 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
* black pepper to taste
* 1 egg, beaten
* cornstarch
* 20 egg roll wrappers
* vegetable oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large bowl, mix together cabbage, carrots, sprouts, celery, and onion. Stir in shrimp, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.

2. Pour beaten egg into a skillet placed over medium heat; cook flat and thin, flipping once, until done. Remove from skillet, cool, and chop finely. Stir egg into cabbage mixture. Sprinkle top with cornstarch, mix, and allow to sit 10 minutes.

3. Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water. Set aside.

4. Place 2 or 3 tablespoons of the shrimp mixture into the center of an egg roll skin. Dip a spoon into the water and cornstarch mixture, and moisten all corners but the bottom corner. Fold the egg roll skin from the bottom over the mixture, making a tight tube of the shrimp mixture. Fold corners in from the sides, and press to stick against folded roll. Then roll the rest of the way. Repeat with remaining egg roll wrappers.

5. Pour vegetable oil into a deep frying pan to a depth of 3 or 4 inches, and heat oil to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Carefully place egg rolls into hot oil, and fry until golden brown. Remove to paper towels.

Season of Lights
Dunes of vapors from crackers rise,
Engulf, as odorous airs resound
Effusing joys to all abound
Pearls of gleams in these autumn nights
Adorn our lives else trite
With sparklers that motley skies
As soaring spirits of powder wander
Let us thank the heavenly might,
In this festive season of lights.

Sonnet: Diwali
Today’s the `Festival of Lights’ all o’er;
A joyful day for minds and hearts and souls;
And people throng the Temples to offer,
Prayers, resolving to take better roles.

And most of them are richly clad and clean,
And eat such dainty foods and sweets with mirth;
Whilst noisy crackers burst, their lights are seen,
It seems to be a happy day on Earth!

But are there not hearts woe-filled, very sad?
Denied of laughter, smiles for days;
Today’s the triumph of Good over bad;
But what about the wastage in much ways?
True joy is when you see someone else smile!
True charity gives joy in Heav’nly style.
